family: work plant 2
Does anybody know what kind of plant this is? The leaves are a beautiful color and look like palm trees when they first bud out.

I was wanting to know if there is a way to root a piece of this Shefalera and if so can you please help me.A friend of mine trimmed hers and gave me a piece and i have it in water right now and it seems to be doing alright but I would like to plant it but there are no roots so I'm just wondering if it is possible to do? Thank You

Geneva on 04/03/10It's also know as an Umbrella Tree.
Den on 04/03/18It is definitely a Shefalera Tree. To answer both of you, you can plant the piece you have in water just the way it is, no need to wait for roots. That's how I grew mine. They also have a verigated form of this plant which is absolutely beautiful.

kristi,
marty on 04/01/09i think it is a shefalera (not sure about spelling). they
grow about 20-30' tall in
new orleans. they can't take cold weather. i have seen a large leaf type and the small leaf like you have.
i stumbled on your site, great
pictures. very enjoyable...
