According to Weddings - For the Ceremony - A Flower for Every Reason, my flowers should bring me love (roses), gentleness (daisies), and fidelity (ivy). Those are all good things!! :-)
in the something I *didn't* know category LOL!

Eric's parents have found out the the Vixie family reunion is going to happen in Portland the week before my wedding. If there were to move it to my weekend, it would be more convient for relatives who would like to attend both. The question is - will that give us more people that we can hold in the reception room? So we are looking into all of the aspects of this decision. Wish us luck!
Another shopping trip accomplished! After my dr. appointment yesterday, mom and a reluctant Matthew joined me in some shopping :-) We found some great deals at Michaels. We bought a whole bunch of sheer organza ribbon, for the flowers, the decorations, and the invitation/program tying. We have teeny tiny lavender, a little wider yellow and white, and a wide yellow and white. They will look gorgeous :-) We also got tulle - both for my veil, which we have decided to try and make, and for some decoration places - I need to investigate the church and find out exactly where the decorations can go :-) We need a place for a head flower decoration and the unity candles, and I haven't looked at the front of the church enough yet to know how that will all go :-) The tulle will also turn the center aisle into a beautiful floaty place, with tulle between each of the seats like this:
The dilemna that I still haven't worked out - what time should the wedding be? I'm thinking late afternoon-early evening, that way we'll have plenty of time to get last minute stuff ready on sunday. But I don't know how full of a dinner we want to have, and how full of a dinner we should have based on time of day.... I'm kinda thinking wedding at 3:30/that'd put the reception at 4ish. Does that sound good? Do you have any ideas? email me! (kdl)
Its only 4 months. Wow, today's the 13th of April, that's 4 months from August 13th! According to Kristine and Eric's wedding page index, that's 122 days :-> Very exciting stuff... but also scarey thinking of how much I have to do before then!! :-) Got any cloning options for me? cuz I could really use more than one of myself to get it all done!! :->
I don't know if its just me, but I just don't think that I would be as happy with silk flowers. Seeing this site: Special Day Florals Weddings & Flowers On-line Catalog has confirmed that! Plus, they are a lot more than the ones at the site I'm going with - http://www.freshroses.com, even though this will be a bunch of work... I think I can do it :-) I can't wait to get some flowers and play! (Yes, I know, playing time should be over, but I am behind on my planning a little teensy bit!!)
Note: My opinion on silk flowers mainly had to do with my desire to keep costs down, and having the quality of silk flowers that I would want for my wedding would be harder to rationalize, even though it would mean that I could keep the flowers forever in their same condition. Special Day Florals Weddings & Flowers On-line Catalog looks like it would provide a wonderful quality, and I would recommend them if you are looking for silk.
This and the next posts are the archive of what was on my wedding journal page already - the dates that are on each entry are the ones to go by, not the April 11th one, or else you'd think I'm like a magic women to have all this happen in one day {giggles}
I purchased a book on flower arranging (The DK Living: Complete Guide To Flower Arranging
) and then another one on writing thank you notes (Bride's Thank You Guide: Thank-You Writing Made Easy). I got a confirmation at 5:30 last night and by 1:30 today, Dan the UPS man was already handing it to me - thanks Barnes and Nobles and UPS!!!
Anyhow, this is the perfect book to go along with my idea of bulk flower purchasing :-) Its got great pics, and I'll scan a small copy of the picture of my fav bouquet :-)
We received an award for this page! I know, that's not part of my wedding planning, but its still very exciting! Thanks, Mysocalledwife.com!!!
I got a chance to talk to my friend Karen and she has graciously agreed to be the Reception Hostess - I trust her to take care of details for the reception that I won't be able to be doinging like - is the food here? are the decorations perfect? oh no, the cake fell over?!! - just kidding, but I'm really excited to have her as a special part of our day :)
The girls and I went back to Touch of Silk to look for dresses - Megan and I have had no luck anywhere else like JCPennys or Mariposa, so we are going to the salon for not much more money. The girls tried on a huge number of dresses and I'm sharing a few of the ones I was able to find pictures of. We picked a beautiful one with ribbon roses - which actually was the one that I originally liked the *first* time we came to ToS! LOL! The necklines of my dress and their dresses aren't exactly the same, but they flow beautifully, and I think we'll look nice together. Unfortuantely, there wasn't a color that matches our flower girl dress. What should I do? The FG dress is a little more blue than the BM dresses. Have an idea? Email me!.
We picked number 1 in the color of number 2 :-) | ||||

I had an *amazing* brainstorm while walking home on wednesday about changing our wedding webpage from being just a piece of the l-p webpage into being an entity of its own. The design I could see in my brain seemed perfect, and I came home and starting putting my ideas into motion. You are reading this journal on my implemented design - isn't it neato? This is my first try at double rollovers and dHTML, so I'm excited! And plus, its helping me get organized with all my wedding stuff because I'm having to organize what is up on the webpage LOL!
