Our weekend exploits went just

Our weekend exploits went just as planned. We got to register at JCPennys (still didn't register for the bedding; we are thinking about adding Bed Bath, and Beyond's registry to our list), and we looked at Tuxes at Mr. Formal. If anybody could be less helpful, it was the girl there. The tux we liked was there, and she said all we'd have to do to start the process of getting them there would be to be measured and fill out a card, but she was so unhelpful that I was rather reluctant to do that. Hmmm... not sure if I should try Gingess or just go with Mr. Formal because I have a nice pile of coupons for them. Father's tuxes are $20 off, ringbearer (Matt, kinda) are $25 off, free vest and shoes for Eric, and $15 off each groomsman. That all adds up to quite a bit savings (like ~$125 savings) But they didn't have anything for Eric to try on, so that was sad.
But all and all, the weekend was sucessful. We went computer shopping, and went to Meg's concert, and that was good :-) And we got to go grocery shopping, too, and that's always a nice thing <.giggle.>
I still have quite a few things on my to do list to work on. But I can only do them as fast as I have time to do them!

I have SO much to

I have SO much to do today. So I'm blogging it to you all who don't care <.giggle.>

Lunch, possibly at Olive Garden since i have a coupon :-)
2PM - appointment to register at JCPennys (talked to Roxy there and she said it would take about 90 minutes)
Try to pick out Tuxes at Gingess or Mr. Formal - we need 9 (Eric, Craig, Bert, Greg, Quoc, both fathers, Leonard, and Matthew) of them!
Find a new computer keyboard and look at the computer options in Portland/Vancouver - is it better to get one through CompUSA or straight through the hp page?
Grocery shopping? Think that'll have to wait until tomorrow!
8PM - Megan's spring concert

So I don't know if I'll actually be able to fit all that in today :-) Tomorrow, while Eric is at his other job, I should go to work and work on printing out invitiation stuff. I need a final copy before Eric's parents come next weekend!! I'd love to go to the mall for shopping purposes with Megan this weekend, but she's so busy that I don't know if I'll get to. She actually would be useful for picking out tuxes too because she has more fashion sense than me <.sigh.> if she wasn't so busy!!!

Brainstorming session below
(by no means is this a plea for gifts, its just so much easier to organize my thoughts here!!!!)

WHAT'S A PLACE SETTING?
A basic place setting is comprised of five pieces: dinner plate, salad/dessert plate, bread and butter plate, cup, and saucer. Start with either eight or 12 place settings, depending on your entertainment plans. If you're registering for china, try for all 12. Your wedding china is meant to last a lifetime, and you'll have holiday dinners with the grandkids somewhere down the line.

We plan to register this weekend, and that requires a great deal of coordination to be ready to do that. I know what place settings we want (Pfaltzgraaf's April) and what larger appliances (in green :-) and a breadmaker) and knifes, but I don't have pans (my fav infomercial ones <.smirk.>) or stemware or silverware picked out, moreless the linen and other small things that need to be added to the list. While surfing through JCPennys (where we are registering) site, I found several good things, though - Mix and Measure set. That looks cool. There's a set of glass cassorole dishes that are lavender at our JCPennys and I like those, too :-) I started out with medium quality, small things for my kitchen, but now we need more. So my registering is focusing on the kitchen, I guess :-) New linen for the new bed is a must, but if we can't decide on one soon, we'll worry about it later. Once we register, I'll make sure to let ya know how it all turned out :-)

post for the reception-girl-extrodinaire -

post for the reception-girl-extrodinaire - Welcome to my wedding page <.giggle.>
I got a call from my friend Karen today - she's gonna be helping organize my wedding reception - the plan is to have everything ready on the wedding day so that all she has to do is make sure that food is on the tables and the decorations aren't in the food <.giggle.> Anyone wanna apply to help her?!! :-)

The other day, my dad

The other day, my dad and me talked about reception food. He has a lot of good ideas, and seems to think that he'll be able to make some of it. The main menu stuff I've thought of is the following:

  • Assorted lunch meats, cheese, and bread/buns to make sandwiches. Both vegetarian and not.
  • Assorted salads - like pasta salad, jello salad, green salad, ?macaroni salad, ?potato salad
  • Assorted fruits and vegetables
  • Meatballs? Eric's mom made some really good vegetarian meatballs when we were down for his grandma's birthday. That would fit in with the rest of the menu pretty nicely.
  • Punch, wedding mints, and of course, cake :-)

That's what I have now. I think we've decided on the wedding being at 4:30 and then having the reception start as soon afterwards as we can get pictures taken :-)
More later :-)

Last weekend, I accomplished exactly

Last weekend, I accomplished exactly NOTHING wedding-wise. It was a nice relaxing weekend, and we got to have dinner with my family for Mothers Day, but nothing weddingish was done. So this week, the following must be done:

  • Invitations - started printing5.24|6:00pm
  • Guest list - all addresses found and entered into excel5.24|5:00pm
  • Schedule fittings and make payment on dresses
  • Start calling about cakes and photographer
  • Order headpiece for me5.15|5:00pm
  • this weekend: Register5.19|2:00pm
  • this weekend: Go to tux store, pick one out.5.19|4:00pm

I'm sure there's more. But these things really need to be nailed down before the visit of Eric's parents memorial day weekend. Its really time now to do a trial flower thing, so I should schedule that for the weekend Eric is in WW for graduation. Actually, that whole weekend should just be wedding stuff. Addressing of envelopes, flower trial, and other stuff. :-) So now I feel more organized, just by writing all this out! 'spose that's why I am journalling!!! :->

Its cool to see that

Its cool to see that Eric blogged :-) I hadn't really mentioned much about our honeymoon, and he told about it perfectly :-) Pastor Lutz (who will be marrying us) gave us a few sugestions of places to visit, and that will be helpful :-)

More wedding notes - looked at some info on "I do veils, so can you" a book on how to make veils. I need to look at this one :-)

Do both fathers (of bride and groom) wear tuxes? the debate on one of the mailing lists I'm on. I can't remember if any of the FOGs have worn tuxes at any of the weddings I've been at.

'sall for now, guys :-) More later!

Oh look only 93 days

Oh look only 93 days to go! I'm wishing that it was less, and I'm wishing it was more.
Why less? Cuz I can't wait to be married to my love :-)
Why more? I have SO much more to do before the wedding!!
I'm surfing wedding pages, may have more to post soon :)

My first blog! Kristine and

My first blog! Kristine and I have decided to take our honeymoon on the Oregon coast. Visit some beaches, see some sights. We may even stay in more than one place so that we can visit more places with less driving. Or we may never leave the hotel room for the whole week! We'll take it entirely as we feel like it. It'll be relaxing, exciting and romantic all at once :-)

What a great place to

What a great place to start looking for ideas - there are som great things in this idea finder: The Wedding Center --Idea Finder -- iVillage.com I'm looking at the favors. I'm really trying to decide for sure what I want. I'm leaning towards designing covers for miniture hershery's candybars with our name, date, and info on it. And then, we'll also have bubbles to blow as we exit :-)

Do you like to run everything you do with a computer instead of pen and paper? Some of these Wedding Downloads might be helpful to you then!! :-) I'm downloading several of them now :-)

This Tux info site gave

This Tux info site gave me some great illustrations for what I want Tuxedo-wise. I definately want a Notch Label and a wing collar. That looks the most formal, IMO.Of course, this company doesn't have any stores in my area to go and see, but they were helpful in helping me see what the different types were LOL! I think that it would be very nice for all the guys to have the same tuxes but for Eric to have a vest. Its too bad that Bari Jay doesn't have matching vests to its dress colors.
Another helpful hint from this site:
"The Pleat's open side faces upwards... so if crumbs were to fall... the "pockets" would catch them."
Ahh... now somebody remember to tell Eric!
